Presentazione

Here is a French language book titled "Beautés et Merveilles du Ciel" by Thomas Squire was published in 1825. It is a French language translation of the English language book "A Popular Grammar or the Elements of Astronomy", that was published in 1823. The world catalog lists only about two dozen copies of the French language edition. The original 1823 English language edition has one listing in the World Catalog, but about 37 copies of the 1836 edition. I was able to find one copy of the 1825 French edition on ABE Books and I noticed that the star map on that copy appears as the frontispiece while the star map of my copy appears between the preface and chapter one. Instead of a frontispiece my copy has a list of books available from the bookseller located in Brussels. I was able to locate a digitized copy of the 1818 English edition and it is very apparent that the 1825 French edition was heavily edited.
