Nell'elenco di quelle antiche appaiono 50 costellazioni: alle 48 tolemaiche gli autori aggiungono Antinous e Coma Berenices le cui stelle Tolomeo elencava rispettivamente insieme a quelle delle costellazioni di Aquila e Leo.
